Hi Jennifer,
Congratulations on your success!
A lot of others (me included) aren’t having much luck
selling online. I’d love to see what your jewelry looks like.
Would you mind sharing on here next time?
Continued success to you.
Dawn

It just required a couple of my jewelry photos for advertising my web site & then they linked the show to my site for 3 days… NO sales! The other was a show I had done before so I was invited to participate with no fee except they would take 30% of each sale. So I decided to give it a try. I spent a whole day configuring my 10 allowed pieces’ photos to their requirements, adding info, price… getting it uploaded to their virtual site only to find out half way through the 3 day show period they “accidentally” left a “not available” sign on my pieces. Needless to say – NO sales, again, & I’ve sworn off virtual shows.

I chose a charity, advertised that I would donate a percentage of the proceeds over the next 2 weeks, and every day I posted new pics of my jewelry on Instagram & Facebook. I ended up selling $1400 worth of jewelry, and was able to make a sizable donation. It was a very rewarding experience.

BUT, They are HUGE. So I guess it depends on how well the platform does their advertising. If they get the word out and a large crowd shops, you could do well. Research well and make sure they are able to advertise a lot.

I have done 2 virtual shows recently and other than getting my name out there it really wasn’t worth the time. I have had some customers contact me after as they really want to see, touch and feel the jewelry before they open their wallets.I dont think I would do another.

To create some sales I approached some art galleries and have been accepted to one for the last 8 weeks of this year. If sales go well they will let me extend the contract into 2021. Food for thought!

I believe it was about $50 to participate and I spent the better part of two days loading my one-of-a-kind jewelry items into the platform.
Although I’m sure there was some sort of advertising- I sold just two pieces which when it was all said (fees/ taxes/ shipping ) and done I broke even.
For me it honestly was not worth it from a time standpoint. I spent two days chained to the computer.
