All of the galleries I have worked at and the one I owned, we always did the printed materials. They should absolutely be helping you advertise the classes!! That said, it is easy to design them online at Staples Copy and Print or Vista…I am sure there are others, but Staples is the only one in my area, I can get them printed the same day and they are fairly inexpensive. You can also download a copy for Internet purposes and to add to newsletters
You want a nice, clean uncluttered photo of the project, preferably just the piece on a white (I prefer transparent) background. A description of what they will learn, cost, date & time, address, and registration deadline. I also put my phone number and email contact on mine, you never know when someone else might want to host a class! Always put your website on your printed materials!

I always have minimum number of students for my classes and a non refundable payment is required with registration. I make it transferable so if the registrant can’t make it, they can give it someone else. Also, I bring a few extra supplies for walk-ins if space allows.
Best of luck!

If they have a display window or case, place samples with different beads, so potential students can get excited about the class.

Here are a few ideas:
– If you have a business FB page or if the store has one, you should make an event. Then share it to your personal page and ask friends and the store employees to do the same. You would get a lot of reach that way. You can link to a registration page on the store website if they can do it that way, but at least you could have the contact info and all of the details.
– The store should also put it on their website.
– Many communities have free events calendars where you can post things like this.
– Also, if there’s a local arts center or something along those lines in your community, they may also share the information for you or at least be willing to put up a poster.
– Be sure to use a good quality picture for your poster and online presence.
Best of luck!
Jan

I’m assuming it’s a craft store or bead store.

Make a flyer about the classes (being sure to include the who, what, where, when, why, how, and pricing information – plus contact info so people can ask questions about the classes).
Post the flyers in the jewelry-supply aisles of the store. Also, when the store’s cashiers ring up people’s purchases, have the cashiers give each customer one of the flyers and say something like “be sure to come to the wire wrapping class here on Thursday night at 7:00!”

Also, the store should have an email list of customers that it sends messages about sales, coupons, new products, etc. The wire wrapping class should be mentioned regularly in those emails, mentioning the project that will be taught in the next session.
