There is a sporting goods store in our little town and I hope to show them some of my things. I am getting a little more daring in some pieces without trying to make it look like I just stuck an earring hook on a lure 🙂 Isn’t it fun to look at something and picture how to turn it into jewelry? I catch myself checking for holes or if I can take it apart. I think I dream at night about it too!

I found a good seller on eBay and bought nine types of spinners in different sizes, shapes, and finishes. There was a huge variety available. Some of the hard bait lures are painted realistically and could be pendants (be sure to remove the hooks!) I haven’t tried to stamp the thick spinner blades, but a few have fishy designs already stamped on them. When I bought fishing swivels for another project I realized that they contained lead, as does much fishing tackle. That’s something to consider. Tackle shops might be one of those niche sales venues…..

I can see these being especially popular among ladies who love fishing. The skillful way you fabricated the earrings hides their origins. Once you’ve put them together, they really do look more like jewelry than fishing lures!
