Barbara, I agree. I sketch my ideas all the time so I won’t forget my design ideas. In my sketches I also include written notes to clarify my thinking. The whole process helps me think through the piece.

In fact, since I am a one-only creator, I end up taking a fair amount of time doing sketches. I think people better appreciate the value of the piece when they see the progression of its creation.
