Gerdany/Herdany protect the wearer from harm by virtue of designs formed over thousands of years by Ukraine’s Indigenous people.

I don’t know about anybody else’s initial reaction, but the moment I saw it, I thought “Waterfall”, because it flows so perfectly.

Yes, these designs was inspired of ancient patterns that were commonly used in cross-stitch and more ancient ‘nabor’ embroidering. One day I tried ‘nabor’ embroidering, you may see how it looks on Ataridel’s website in ‘Blog’, it’s very interesting technique, but beading work I like more.

I wouldn’t have the patience to do this, but these pieces are maybe the most gorgeous I’ve ever seen!

It takes about 1-2 hours to draw the pattern, 18-20 hours to make a gerdan and about 4-6 hours to make a pair of earrings. To make fringes is the hardest part of the work.
I would be happy to see them on elegant ladies in real life but all these pieces are custom orders, and they go to other cities and other countries. My customers said how happy they were to receive the gerdans, and I’m happy to know it.

How many hours do these pieces take to make? I love your use of color in these dramatic designs, and the sense of tradition from the ethnic pattern. The detail on these pieces must really be something to see in person – I bet they start conversations every time someone sees them!
