No matter how good your work is, you WILL have a show (probably more than one) where you just don’t sell much, if anything. It’s important to stay confident in your own ability and work. I just tell myself, “Your customers weren’t here.” It’s hard to keep going sometimes, but the great shows make it all worth it! You’re right – every show is a learning experience, regardless of whether it’s profitable or not.

Especially realizing early on that the venues you were doing weren’t where your tribe / customers were likely to be.

And the fact that offering too many choices can result in the customer choosing not to purchase at all. I try to mostly set up “yes or no” purchasing decisions, rather than “multiple choice” ones.

I love your method of asking a customer, “What’s the first thing you saw / touched?” and then selling it to them! 🙂

I also enjoyed your jewelry. It is very unique and I’m glad you were able to find your audience instead of giving up and thinking it wasn’t something that others would cherish. Hurrah for you on both counts. I hope to do the same!
Cheers!
